Hello. I have been on this site for a while and am just getting back forma long break. Had some personal stuff to do (family) so I took some time off. My question is both nutrition and exercise. I am 5'7" and 218lbs. I started my weight loss in December of 2013 at 236lbs. I ride a bicycle around town and been doing well, but how much protein should I be eating on a daily basis? I am beginning to see some muscle in my arms and legs and can ride for miles. I ride to school I go the University of Texas at El Paso and then home. My trip is 5 miles each way and takes about 50 minutes each way. I think that mfp gives me too many calories. I have found conflicting answers on other websites that tell me that I should at a ton of protien and low carb, but I find the rides next to impossible without bread or beans or some other carb.

1. How many calories should I eat daily?
2. How much protein should I eat daily?

It would be helpful to know a bit more about you. Gender, age, lifestyle/experience with exercise, any food limitations (allergies, vegetarian, etc).
