  • I have a mild intolerance for gluten, and when I do ever eat a sandwich or pizza, I know I'll feel horrible the next day and end up eating so much more! It's horrible.

I would just try to avoid it all together since you know it'll make you feel bad next time. Try things like cauliflower pizzas, flax crackers etc and drink lots of water, eat fiberous veggies/fruits until all the gluten is flushed out.

If you are celiac and ate gluten, then that was foolish. Depending on the damage done to your intestines, it could take weeks to recover fully and the gut to heal . My advice? Make yourself as comfortable as possible, try and get some rest and don't do it again. Unlike an intolerance, us celiac sufferers don't have the luxury of 'just one mouthful' so you need to be mindful of just how serious it is for you to eat gluten.

Foolish as it may be we are only human as well, with temptations all around us every single day. Everybody else falls for those so now and then and we are no different, only we get ill from it. I am gluten intolerant and even I in the beginning fell for those temptations so now and then. Don't be too harsh on yourself. It happened, learn from it and move on. Try to find gluten free alternatives for those foods you can't resist. When you check on Google you find nearly everything your heart desires in gluten free version.
