Hi all

This is my first post, I am a newbie as of this month.

I am 39 and 4 young children have always kept me active, or so I liked to tell myself. I mean, I have never been a “couch potato”, I have always done things with them, and not being a driver means all the weekly shopping, etc, has been done on foot carrying heavy bags home, etc, but at the same time I have never really *done* anything to constitute getting the heart pumping.

I lost 3½ stone 2 years ago (and subsequently put most of it back on, but that’s another story) and I didn’t really feel too energetic back then, but this time I am feeling full of energy and all I want to do is get out there and go for long, brisk walks (which is my preferred method of exercise; that and swimming. Running would kill me at this early stage in my diet!!). In the last 3 weeks I have switched my food intake from wall-to-wall processed food to mostly fresh veg & pasta and I am now fully appreciating the very real benefit of fresh produce in my diet for the first time ever.

We recently got a dog, the first one I have ever owned, and when we had her (in January) I wasn’t overly keen on walking her, I was hoping my wife would do that, but since I started my diet (in march) I have taken over full walking duties. I have never felt so active!
