Hi All, I've been reading a lot of great reviews on P90X.. I'm on the fence about buying it! As of now I'm going to the gym 5 days a week 3days carido 2 days strenght training ( i follow all lessmills class) I would hate to give up these class's....
So can I miss a day of P90X and do my gym workout once or twice a week?
So can someone please tell me how the schedule is for working out, as well the meal plan( I'm not a seafood eater) so will I have a problem?? If someone can share what a workout and meal day would be like?
Thanks for any info....

P90X is a 6 day a week program with an optional 7th day of yoga type exercise. Each workout last about 60 min. The meal plans are more high protein/low carb based. So it does take up alot of your time. Unless you are gonna workout twice a day once with P90x and once at the gym its gonna be alot for you. There are other programs that beachbody(the company that sells P90x) has that are a little less extensive and time consuming but work great, especially if you are planning on going to the gym as well. I am a beachbody coach and would love to help you find a program that fits you, or even answer any more questions you have. Feel free to friend me and we can chat!

I started P90x at the time my gym was flooded and closed. So it worked well for the first month. Now I am in month two and instead of doing the P90X doubles i arranged the start date (Tues instead of Mon) to line up so that Tues / Thurs / Sat are my doubles days and those are the days I go to the gym in the morning for cardio classes instead of doing the Cardio X program.
P90X also has a very set regimen and goal - if you are getting results at the gym now - do you need it? I don't follow the nutrition exactly either. I just arranged my micronutrient settings in here and use this to try to stay under my calories. I hardly ever made the protein goals first round - I needed to get like 200-300 a day! So I just did the best I could to eat more protein than normal and to stay in my calories.
You also can mix and match the program if you want, You dont HAVE to do it every day and as long as you are rotating the body part you are working it's OK. you might not get the results that they show in the videos, but you will still get fit. Ie, And if you happen to have a Kickboxing class at the gym - it will be the same thing as the Kenpo day on P90X. Same for Yoga as long as your gym has a somewhat challenging yoga class. You can also rearrange the workouts a bit (say your gym offers kickboxing and yoga on nights that dont allign with your workout schedule), but just don't put working the same groups together. You can do the weights at the gym because they are things you can do there if you write down the sequence - but then... if you are going to do that - do you want to pay $100 for the program? If that's not a huge stretch for you, then go for it. For us, that would be a huge sacrifice if we were not going to use them all the time.
If you really like your gym routine as is, I would suggest getting something like maybe a yoga, stretching, and abs or butt video and working these in at home to supplement what you do at the gym. They can help with your flexibility and also target one or two body parts in ways that won't exhaust you from still going to the gym. The abs portion I have noticed results more than anything else I have done so far.0
