Stamina by Zumba

I know, I know, you just saw the word Zumba. Half of you just did a half-assed Beto Shuffle and went woowoo (all Beto Shuffles are half assed btw, it's not your fault), the other half of you just rolled your eyes because Zumba isn't a "real" workout. Yesterday was one of the strangest of my life. A 4:30am black ice related car accident on the way to a 6:44a flight caused me to miss that flight and have to rebook to a later flight that had me landing one flight at the exact same minute my second flight was boarding ... in another concourse in O'Hare. Anyone that has ever done the dash from B to C for instance will know what I'm talking about.

So I got lucky and got in 5 minutes early. Deplaning was strangely smooth. And now I'm on my way. And I'm not missing that plane. I freaking ran, carry-on in one hand, laptop bag in the other, I'm running like the devil is chasing me. There was another gent trying to make the same flight (not with me, just going the same way) but I lost him somewhere near the neon lights tunnel thingie.

I was forced to take the escalators because there were too many people already on the stairs, but I kept moving on the escalators. In less than 5 minutes, I made it to my gate, sweaty, definitely out of breath, but I did not miss that plane!

My favorite cardio is Zumba. I burn an average of 750 - 850 calories per hour. I can make it as low or high impact as I need that day. And it's fun. And before Zumba, I never could have made that dash. I'm not a runner, never will be (big boobs, bad knees). Thank you Beto! Zumba helps me every day, but yesterday it made sure that my butt was in that seat and I made to California on time!
