It's like a broken record all.day.long.
"I only eat 1200 calories and I'm GAINING weight! It's been, like, 2 seconds since I started the diet!"

/eye roll

I get it, we all want to drop it all ASAP because we've come to the realization that we would rather be thinner/fitter/healthier/etc. Do I get frustrated? Sure. Do I post it endlessly on MFP so I can try to get whatever response I'm looking for? No.

Do these people mostly do it for post count, or do you really think people can't figure out why they "can't lose a pound"?

Some people just don't log everything.
Some just want faster results than humanly possible...
AND.. Some just want that jackpot at the end of The Biggest Loser.

I think most of those people just don't have a clue...most of them do not log consistently and just eyeball stuff and just assume they're eating around 1200 calories....most of them are eating far more. A lot of them are also closet eaters and they don't log that...if they don't log it, it never happened right? These people for the most part do not understand how calories work or how precise you have to be when counting them...really, it doesn't take a whole lot of errror to wipe out a 500 calorie deficit or even a 1000 calorie deficit...it's pretty easy to do with just a few handfuls of calorie dense foods stuffs or beverage that gets overlooked or otherwise ignored (in my experience, usually the latter)

I also think a lot of them have major food issues and some serious disordered thinking if not full blown EDs and/or compulsive disorders.

I know it gets said a lot, but I really wonder how someone gets obese, then goes on to 1200 cals a day and complains that they can't eat that much. I get some of it is trying to decide which foods to eat for those cals, but mostly they complain about not being hungry enough to eat it.

Christ knows what I used to consume to get to my start weight, but I would have quickly chewed my own (rather substantial) left arm off if I'd started at 1200.

Or when people insist that they have been eating less calories than they use, unless they have a nuclear reactor in their intestine...
