I bet it does ever so slightly. Green tea has caffeine in it. Caffeine elevates your heart rate. Elevated heart rate you burn more calories. Is it going to make much difference? No probably not. Personally I find if I'm bringing intensity to my workouts my heart is beating pretty hard as is and if I had caffeine before hand it actually beats too fast and I find it difficult to workout quite as hard so I think it kind of defeats the purpose.
If you are just sitting on the couch though I imagine it still elevates your heart rate for a bit and during that hour your BMR would be ever slightly higher. Most certainly not going to make or break a diet though.0
