Is it safe to lift heavy weights with a sliding hiatal hernia? I have had a sliding hiatal hernia for many years and over the last 16wks I have added heavy lifting into my workout routine. I sometimes notice 'discomfort' in area where my hernia is after lifting..should I be concerned? It doesn't last long but it is noticeable. Thoughts?

Consult a doctor,
Over 9000 this.
I have a slight hernia and got cleared to lift but was warned "Stop if there's ANY pain associated with it," but you mileage will vary wildly with the severity of the hernia.0 -
I have a hiatus hernia and I haven't really had a problem when lifting, just the foods/drinks that I have.0

I'm going to the doctor in the next week and will mention it..just curious if anyone else experienced this.0
