MY FIRST GYM 2 WEEKS

I’m going to share my first weeks at the gym, from day 2 and on. I’ve shared my first day ... and now I’m going to continue to share my journey :)

3/10 I did treadmill for 30 minutes
3/11 I didn’t not go to the gym... didnt feel like it
3/12 tread mill for 55 minutes burned 260
3/13 I didn’t go to the gym
3/14 I got busy and didn’t go to the gym :(

Day 3 at the gym- I just know the treadmill and so I tried it for 75 minutes... i ended up burning 335 calories just doing it for this long. Once I got started I didn’t want to stop but everyone told me not to over push myself so I couldn't go more. At the end I got in my car and I was like ok I just walked. But honesty the first step is to get in there and do it and then keep going. :) I was proud I made the step to get in there.

***I didn’t go to the gym on this day march 16th***honesty I didn’t feel like it.

Day 4 at the gym- 3/17/14- I did the tread mill and the bike this day and I worked out for 60 minutes and burned 436 on both together. I felt ok on this... and I felt a sweat, when I got in the car. But today I was worried that people were watching me... and I just had to try my best once the BSB music came on I was in my own zone. :) I did it though went home showered and crashed.

Day 5 @ the gym- 3/18/14- a friend introduced a new machine to me today, she said the bike doesn't do anything and the treadmill is a good cool down...so she introduced the Elliptical to me .and I was worried on how to use this machine so she kind of showed me so I tried this machine out. (again I am a gym virgin and in high school they never taught me how to use these things) so I tried it for 15 minutes than it went to 20 than 35 ended up burning 310 calories and the treadmill became my best friend again :) did that for 25 minutes and burned 136 calories, at the end of the day I was feeling it :)

day 6 at the gym 3/19/14- I did the Elliptical and the treadmill today and I felt the burn today but I wanted to keep going... and I ended up burning 323 on elliptical for 35 minutes and then 102 on treadmill for 20 minutes. My legs were feeling it.

Day 7 at the gym-3/20/2014 i did both again. Getting the hang of it this time. 35 minutes of treadmill and burned 191 calories and then the elliptical I did for 35 minutes and burned 262 on it and I really felt it again my knee hurt today but that was because I was learning the new machine and I did it wrong the first time lol. But it’s a learning experience I’m not giving up on.

Day 8 at the gym 3/20/14- now I have been going to the gym all week and I have it in my blood to continue to go. and I’m feeling the burn and soreness but it’s not stopping me- I did Elliptical for 35 minutes and treadmill for 35 minutes burned 453 altogether .. Feeling pretty proud :)

FROM GOING TO THE GYM ALMOST EVERYDAY THIS WEEK I FEEL PRETTY GOOD. I'M NOT TIRED AS I WAS I FEEL MORE ENERGIZED THAT I WANT TO GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING ,I DON'T WANT TO SIT IN THE HOUSE AND DO NOTHING NOW WHEN I WATCH TV I FEEL I'M ALWAYS MOVING DOING SOMETHING AS OF BEFORE I WOULD BE LIKE BLAH AND NOT WANT TO DO MUCH OF NOTHING . I FEEL PRETTY GOOD AT WHERE I'M AT FROM THE GYM... AND PRETTY PROUD OF MYSELF FOR KEEP GOING... NOW HAVE A FEAR IF I STOP I WILL NOT RETURN.

SO THIS WEEK FROM MARCH 21ST SOMETHING HAPPENED I HAD ALL INTENTIONS TO GO TO THE GYM ON FRIDAY NIGHT BUT I WAS BAKING AND DECIDED TO JABB MY HAND INTO A STEAK KNIFE. OF COURSE NOT ON PURPOSE. BUT I DID IT AND I KNOW I HIT SOME NERVES. AND IT’S IN A LOT OF PAIN I COULDN'T MOVE MY HAND/ ARM ON SATURDAY - MONDAY. I ENDED UP GETTING A HEAD COLD ON TUESDAY SO THAT AND A HURT HAND I DIDN'T ATTEND THE GYM AND I WAS NOT HAPPY. PERSONALLY I FELT LIKE I WAS QUITTING. BUT I KNEW THE REAL REASON WHY.

So Wednesday 3/26/14 I tried to go to the gym, I figured I could just do the treadmill and get something... I couldn't breathe because of the head cold... and I didn't feel good at all. (Wonderful birthday week :( beginning)... I got on the treadmill I wanted to work out for 45 minutes and I only made it to 15 ... I couldn't move/breath I had to stop myself and my chest was in a lot of pain. So I had to leave with that being said I burned 146 calories...and I tried I give myself props for that... but I wasn't happy with how my body shut down. :( But I went...

I feel if I stop going in never going to go back but like my body wants to, and I want to now. I feel I’m becoming addicted to the gym and I feel sooo much better in these 2 weeks since I have been going. and I know in the long run I will be starting to do weights and other machines and other cardio but as of right now I like where I’m at. I will get up to the speed on the treadmill and Elliptical and hopefully get to running but it all takes time and I’m will to Work it out the best of my body.

not to mention i have lost 3 pounds since my last weigh in :)

***i have a goal and i need to get there. and i know in the long run it will all be 100% worth it :) ***

but i will say this in the beginning i said gyms weren't for me and i don't feel conformable and all this mambo jumbo stuff but honestly i like it its a 100% no judgmental zone and i just put the music in and i go about my self.. :).. i feel better and i cant wait til i get 100% better and 100% better with my hand and i can continue my journey. and i will do my best to support all and help them too . but this site is amazing and there are so many people like me and i know if can do it and i have 100% faith in everyone who can do it :)

good luck!
***keep your head up its sooo worth it in the end.

Congrats on getting to the gym!!! Even on days where you kind of weren't feeling it.

    :)

I would highly encourage you to start watching the weight room while you are doing your cardio.

Start watching and observing- also start reading up on weight lifting.

Cardio is nice- but you should really also consider doing some weight training.
Some great places to start would be
    Starting strength
    Strong lifts
    Strong Curves
    New Rules of Lifting

Cardio is nice- but when you lose all that weight you're going to want some muscle to show off!!!

Good on you for going to the gym! I would also recommend trying out some weights. There is a plethora of videos on the net on how to lift properly.

Congrats on going to the gym! I had never stepped foot into a gym till January 2013. I was nervous at first but just did my workouts and didn't care about others and what they thought. Most people are just doing their workouts and aren't watching others. I was at Planet Fitness from Jan 2013 till June 2013 then joined Fit Club in July 2013 and I love it there. Lots of classes and pool and pool exercise classes too. I have learned you burn the most cals the fastest on the ellpitical machine. The bike takes forever! Treadmill does too unless you are running. I usually do 10 min on ellpitical then go to weights and weight machines for 25-30 minutes and then back to ellptiical for 20 minutes then change into my swim suit and do a 45 min to 1 hour water exercise class. I usually burn off 650 cals according to my Polar FT7 heart rate monitor I wear.
I go to gym right after work usually Mon, Tues and Thurs nights and if I can get there on the weekends I will go then too but usually it is 3 days a week. I wish I could get there more often but can't usually on Wed or the weekend due to activities I have.
Good luck and keep up the good work!
