Hey Guys.
So I'm on a lifestyle change (notice I didn't say diet) that I eat very healthy. No breads, junk all that old good stuff. BUT I was wondering some excellent recipies for a meatloaf or ANYTHING with ground turkey

Just use your old recipes, you'd put beef in. My daughter doesn't eat beef, so we do bolognaise, chilli, lasagne etc with Turkey mince.0

Stuffed bell peppers, Shepard's pie (substitute mashed taters for mashed cauliflower), Turkey tacos, turkey burgers.
Basically everything and anything is delicious tasting, made with ground turkey.0 -
BALLS! Um, I mean't turkey balls...actually I guess I should say turkey meatballs. So, here's the trick to keep from ending up with dry, tight little hockey pucks. Zucchini. Shredded zucchini (1 small one for a pound of meat) keeps the meat looser and moist. For each pound of meat, use about 2 T of ground flax meal and an egg. Then add whatever flavoring you want. My favorite is a couple tablespoons of finely chopped sundried tomatoes, a couple tablespoons of parmesan or mozzarella cheese, and some shredded fresh basil. (Of course salt and pepper as you would any other ground meat.) You don't even need a sauce for this since it already has all that flavor. Pan fry in a nonstick pan, or bake on a sprayed foil lined baking pan.0

I make tacos with ground turkey. Instead of taco seasoning we use fajita seasoning. The kids like it better than regular beef tacos.0

In addition to all of the above I also make low fat turkey sausage patties when I want a special breakfast (I know that I just cannot eat one piece of bacon and feel satisfied). When I first made them I was gob-smacked that you could make tasty, lowfat, homemade sausage. lol I make everything else, no idea why that didn't occur to me.0

What can I have with bell peppers as a side ?0 -
Zucchini would go well-- Maybe some quinoa or brown rice? You could even add mushrooms/spinach into the ground turkey mix and that will most likely fill you up on its own.
For the bell peppers, I prefer to boil them for 10-12 mins first, brown the turkey in separate pan obvi and add the mushrooms and spinach (or whatever veggies you want) last. Mix it all up, get the flavors goin', stuff into those peppers and bake.0 -

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/white-chili-with-ground-turkey/ This is by far my fave. Its a little higher in calories but it is loaded with protein!!!!! I think it came out to be about 500 per bowl with a serving of tostitos bakes tortilla scoops. 500 calories isn't too bad for dinner.0

My favorite recipe to share: Soutwestern Turkey burgers (a bit salty but you can cut out the salt)
98% FF ground turkery
1/2 cup chopped onions or scallions
2 tsp. cumin
1/4 salsa
1 packet onion soup mix (cut out if you don't want the salt)
7 large tortilla chips, crushed
1/4 cilentro
1 tsp. hot crushed red peppers
olive oil spray
Mix everything together really well until flavors absorb. Let sit in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, then shape into patties, use olive oil spray and pan sear for about 3 minutes on each side. Easy to make and lasts for a few days. Makes about 10 small patties. High in protein, low in fat. Enjoy.0 -

I have an AWESOMSE turkey veggie spaghetti recipie!
1 pound of ground turkey (browned)
1/4 onion (diced)
1 can of spaghetti sauce
3 cups of raw spinach (cooked into the sauce, but optional)
1 can diced tomatos
1 box of hidden veggie spaghetti noodles
just fix it up like normal spaghetti!
It's super tasty and serves 6 or more if you make small enough portions!0 -
Ha! I just made turkey meatloaf for the very first time. I have two boys (one who is a little on the picky side) Turned out delicious. I am on the same "healthy mind" eating journey you are on. Here is how I did it ...
Two pounds of lean 93% Turkey
Lipton Onion / Mushroom soup mix (ground fine)
Lipton Onion / Beef soup mix (ground fine)
Egg beaters Southwestern (about and egg or so)
Mustard (couple of good squirts)
Worcestershire sauce (about 2 tbl)
Ketchup (I used spicy because I had it at home)
Breadcrumbs
Red Pepper flakes
Mix it all together. I usually take a small piece and microwave for 30 seconds and check the seasoning!
350 degrees until it reaches 160 degrees internal temp
Enjoy! We had no leftovers!!!0 -

Pretty much just search allrecipes.com or any other recipe sites for ground turkey! I made this one , I'd say other than browning the turkey and reducing the tomato sauce there's very little cooking involved0 -
That shepards pie w/ mashed cauliflower sounds DELISH!0

my go to ground turkey is chili or meat sauce for spaghetti squash.0
