Filling low cal lunch ideas

I work in an office with a fridge and microwave. I am looking for some ideas other than salad to make ahead for lunches at work. Typically I go the deli and get a pre-made salad or sandwich and soup. Any ideas?

You can make soup and sandwiches ahead of time for lunches.

Typically I bring last nights dinner for lunch.

Yes I know I can. lol. I am looking for something other than what I have been eating everyday for a month

Try that chicken chili taco recipe I posted. It seriously makes enough for probably 10 meals if you break them up. I had it for dinner and lunch and today it was actually better. I also buy a big huge pack of boneless skinless chicken breasts and bake them all on Sunday. I dice them up and stick them all in the fridge. Really easy to add to anything I am eating and makes it so I always have something healthy to eat. If I run out of good food............I always reach for the bad!

I've been making a 100% whole wheat pasta/tuna/chick peas/broccoli + low fat dressing as a cold salad for lunch lately. I make a big batch and take in just a cup/serving a day. You can sub any veggies or add a little cheese as well. It has been keeping me full!

Just in case you weren't aware of this feature, when you go to the message boards section, there is a button called search and you can type in a keyword/phrase (ex: lunch, low cal lunch) and you can see the threads that have already been created on the topic. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

I like making a big batch of turkey chili, or chicken noodle soup.

Cottage cheese & pineapple, side of carrots & celery......add some whole wheat crackers.

You could do a snacky type meal.......a hard boiled egg, some string cheese, wheat thins, veggies & grapes.

Wraps or roll-ups (still a sandwich of course) but it changes things up a bit. Turkey, veggies (a dill pickle spear...mmm), craisins or nuts, spread on dijoinaisse, dilled cream cheese spread.

Bento boxes are popular. Just looking at pictures of what people cram in these things is inspiring.

Its 204 calories for 1 1/4 cups and then I add 3/4 of a cup of brown rice which is 150 calories...so roughly 350 for a huge pile of food

Bella, I have several favorites I pack for lunch.

1.Three celery stalks and about 1/4 cup of baby carrots with 1 tbs. of Almond Butter
2. Three celery stalks and about 1/4 cut of baby carrots with 1/2 cup of fresh salsa
3. Small can of tuna fish with half an avocado
4. Small can of tuna fish with 1 cup of raw spinach (sometimes add my own dressing or just use seasoning)
5. When I make dinner I often make two extra pieces of meat or fish. My husband and I will take it to work in a salad.

I usually have frozen fish (cod is great and takes min to cook) bag of steam fresh veggies takes about as long as fish does, this week I tried acorn squash and eat that for 3 days w/ my fish and other veggies, just the fish and veggies are only about 200 cals. Acorn added another 140 cals (made w/ brown sugar)

Also, I eat boiled shrimp with veggies quick and easy
