There seem to be so many different theories out there about what kind of diet to follow: low-carb, plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, Paleo, the list just keeps going. It's hard to know what will work, and what's really healthy. And I know that the answer may vary by person depending on their gender and other individual factors. But for those of you that have had success in losing weight and keeping it off, what type of diet plan have you followed?

There are none. What works best for one person may not suit your lifestyle. I personally don't eat 5-6 meals a day. I eat whenever I feel hungry but often times it's once or twice a day. Just focus on hitting your macro nutrient goals and vitamins/minerals + fiber however you want to--whether that be in one meal or eight meals. At the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Monitoring your calories can indeed be precise towards reaching your goal physique (especially if you have a deadline), but in no way should it consume your life. In my opinion, the "best" diet is one that you can adhere to with peace of mind. Although in my personal opinion, I don't suggest low-carb diets since you can lean out using much safer alternatives, primarily with a sustained, moderate caloric deficit. When you do something like completely restrict or remove a macro nutrient from your diet (in this case, carbs), you set yourself up for a binge & restrict cycle.

The best eating plan is one that you can stick to long term and feel best with. Anything food in a calorie deficit will result in weight loss
