BMR higher than MFP recommended?

I am sorry if the answer to this is elsewhere, I have read a lot of these posts and I have gathered that I am not supposed to eat below my BMR or my body will go into "starvation". Well, the MFP BMR calculator says mine is 1536. (A couple other online calculators say the same.) I did "guided" goals with MFP: I have a desk job so sedentary with 5 workouts of 60 minutes a week, and I wanted to lose 1 lb a week. Well, this gives me 1430 a day....which is below my BMR?!

Maybe I'm just thinking too much but I'm trying to figure out how much I really should be eating. I am fine with the calories I have now if they will help me lose the weight but if I could eat more and lose the same?! Of course I would chose option B.

I have thought about switching to TDEE soon because I've read great things about it but I'm waiting another week for more data before I do the calculations.

Well with MFP, if you eat the 1430 and log your exercise, you'll end up eating MORE than 1430 total. How many calories do you think you burn each workout? 300-ish? So if you log those in MFP, MFP will indicate you should eat 300 more calories, or 1730 total calories for the day on the days you exercise.

A good "rule of thumb" is to "net" at least your BMR every day. You "net" being total calories eaten minus exercise calories.
