My clothes started to feel a bit tight recently so I decided to give my fitness pal another go.

It's only day 3 and I'm finding it really difficult. I'd reached my calorie limit by 8pm but still felt starving!!

I went in to the kitchen, put the oven on and poured out a large amount of oven chips and some hamwiches. Just as I was about to put them in the oven I thought about how rubbish I felt in my tight clothes and put them back in the freezer.

I know that doesn't sound like a big deal to other people but that's major for me. Just thought I'd share.

That's great! You're getting yourself on the right track. I'd suggest drinking some water and see if maybe those are actually thirst pangs being confused for hunger pangs. If you're still hungry after that, try snacking on some veggies. You don't have to go hungry to lose weight.

Well done! Overcoming the habits that got us to where we are today is definitely an important part of our healthy lifestyle journey.

Do make sure that you've properly evaluated your intake level, though; while being hungry after you've reached your goal for the day could mean that your body is still adjusting to the new number (day 3, as you said), it could also mean that you've got that goal set too low, or perhaps that you're not getting enough protein/fibre or other macro to help you stay full longer. (And hydrate! People often mistake thirst for hunger.) A too-aggressive approach, while it may seem to yield faster results, will only end in failure if you give up and binge eventually because you can't stand it anymore. (Not knowing anything about you and your goals, I've generalised grossly here.)

Focus on making sustainable changes, and I'm sure you'll achieve your goals. :)

I hardly drink anything throughout the day so it probably is thirst rather than hunger. I can go through a whole day only having drunk 2 cups of tea. I think I automatically go for food when I feel those pangs rather than something to drink. Or if I do drink something, its full fat coke!

I'll start drinking more and hopefully I won't get as hungry!
