I'm Back and Looking for friends

I started My Fitness Pal February 2013 after seeing photos of me and my husband out for my birthday. I hopped on the scale and like WOW I didn't think the scale went this high. I did really good for more than a few month before life got crazy and I started to notice I wasn't checking in on more and more days.

Then in August of 2013 I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer and everything in my life halted. In October of 2013 I had a radical hysterectomy (at age 34) and then I started radiation the day after Christmas 2013. I added Chemo at New Years.

I finished my treatments just a few weeks ago and started physical therapy to gain some strength back and will be going back to work on April 1st, 2014. I want to rejoin My Fitness Pal to make this a fresh new HEALTHY start to my life and to help support others who are looking to do the same.

I would love to start a network of friends who will help keep me on track ( especially anyone who shares my struggles) and who I can help share words of encouragement as well.

I plan on joining a local gym here in my home town so if you live the Stroudsburg, Pa area please message me and we can talk about working out together some time.

Thank you for listening, and Goddess Bless.

  • BTW I also have lymphedema now in my right leg, since my surgery, so weigh ins are going to be fun. If you also have lymphedema let me know what you do to manage it. I have a compression sock from foot to knee but get swelling higher in the thigh to hip area as well. I tried occupational therapy for a while, but insurance won't pay for any more.

Hi what an inspiring story!!!! I am recovering from hiatal hernia and fundoplication surgery post 3 weeks. I may be going back to work on April 2, with my work schedule and from the fatigue recovering from surgery eating healthy and excercising will be a challenge. I'm a nurse at a fast pace mental health out patient facility. I'd love to be your friend b/c I need the support also. God Bless
  • I work for an Optical office and I thought I was a tough enough person to push thru the treatment and still work. I found out after the first week that was a big joke. I had no choice but to take 3 months off while going thru my treatment, but now I'm here I survived and I am ready to move on with a healthier me life. I learned a lot during my treatment including women who are not obese and lead a healthier life are less likely to have a relapse.
  • Wow!!! Bless your heart!!! You have been through so much at such a young age. I would love to help and support you. Add me if you would like too.
