How do you calculate net carbs? And should you really count net or should you count just the carbs on the nutrient listings?

Net Carbs = Carbs minus Fiber
Ex: 10 Carbs / 5 Fiber would be 5 Net Carbs
Everyone has a difference of opinions on what to calculate, I personally calculate Net Carbs as this is what is processed into the body... The Fiber carbs are burned off during process.. and process into your body slowly. If you are eating a low carb diet, then look at Net carbs. However, if you are just eating healthy look at total carbs... however, keep in mind that fruit is very high in carbs, however it's natural sugars so it's healthier ... versus white bread, potatoes etc.0 -
