I am 72 yrs young, 5'3" and have lost 8 pounds in 8 weeks but would be interested to know if I could eat more calories and still lose. Also need help losing belly fat. My big firm belly has turned into a big bread dough belly. thanks for any help you can offer

Look up your TDEE.
Yes, you'd likely be able to eat more and still lose.
Here's one calculator:

TDEE is a bit tricky though because each calculator gives different totals so it can take a while to find out what is the right amount for you.0 -

I prefer this calculator, because most of the others have activity level settings that are too broad imo - for example, the minimum one is NO exercise/sedentary then it jumps to 1-3 hours of light exercise per week, then jumps to 3-5 hours *moderate* exercise per week and so on... what if you fall in between somewhere?? the exrx calc lets you input your total 24 hours divided up into Resting, Very Light, Light, Moderate, and Heavy and gives examples of each. I personally feel it's more accurate for anyone who, like me, exercises more than 3 hours a week but the intensity doesn't come up to the "moderate" level or more.0 -
Look up www.fitnessfrog.com their calculators are easier to understand. Good luck!0
