I have been having trouble keeping up with my 1200 calories per day especially when I work out and am supposed to eat more calories. Everyday when I am finished logging my food intake the message pops up saying I am not getting enough calories and am putting myself in starvation mode. I have though gone over my fat and sugar intake quite a few times and am having trouble balancing everything. I do try to get enough protein so I do not go hungry. Can I still lose weight without getting 1200 calories per day? I started logging everything here 2 weeks ago have been dieting and working out for a month. At the beginning I lost 6lbs but have been at a stand still for a week and a half now...any advice?

You only have 6 lbs. to go. Set your goal to .5 lb. per week (which is way more than 1,200 calories), and be patient.

Id get yourself some snacks to up your calories. The 100 calorie snack packs are useful. Cheese sticks, eat two table spoons of peanut butter thats 200 calories. A table spoon of olive oil is 120 calories.

You just need to add a couple of calorie dense foods into your day. Are you going over on sugars because of fruit or less healthy options? If it's fruit, then the sugars aren't that big of a deal as long as you aren't diabetic.

To me, the most important thing to get is protein. The other limits are good suggestions. You can occasionally be low on calories and it won't hurt you but you really don't want to sustain that over a longer period of time.

I am having trouble getting the calories up there to 1200 too as I'm just not that hungry since I started eating healthy. I just started today trying to get it up there. When I asked this question they said nuts, avocado, peanut butter....avocado is about 250 calories for a medium but is high in good fats and is good for you.

You eat things that are low in volume but healthy and add calories

Yes...mostly fruit and my weakness is Tim Hortons Large coffee with double cream...I have tried to switch over to. Milk but it tastes awful but I have cut back on the coffee to just one a day.
