With a bit more spare time and entering a good routine I'm hoping to finally get to my summer shape.
I haven't weighed recently (will do tomorrow morning) but last time it was around 150 lbs. That is about 22 lbs / 10 kilos more than I used to weigh
And I really want to go back there.
I'm female, 23 and 5"9.
What I'm doing now is;
- No alcohol or sugar, few carbs
- 1200 calories a day, at least an hour of very fast walking per day and eating back my calories. Usually about 1600 a day.
When I have more money I'll get some workout gear and join a gym.
I see some are skeptical regarding 1200 a day, but surely it's better if you eat back your calories?
I'm calculating that this will leave me at about 500 calorie deficit per day and that I will lose 1 lb a week. Seems ok?

With only 20 lb. to lose, set your goal to .5 lb. per week—which is way more than 1,200 calories—and be patient. The less you have to lose, the more slowly you lose. That's just the way the human body works. 1 lb. per week is an unrealistic, unhealthy goal for someone your size.

You mean in the sense that I will crash or that I simply won't lose that much? As for now I'm managing the calories fine.0 -
You won't lose that much.
Food is fuel, and you should be trying to find the maximum number of calories at which you lose weight—never the minimum.0
