chest discomfort at beginning of a run

Trying to solve a puzzle: I only get pain in my chest when I run, not when I do aerobics classes. If I allow myself an extended warm-up (walking for 15 minutes or so), when I start to run I don't feel the discomfort. However, if I don't allow the warm-up I immediately start to feel the pain (it will subside after 10-15 minutes). Happens whether I am inside or outside, or no matter what temperature. My heart has been checked and it is fine. Anyone else experience this? Started for me a few years ago--I am 50 now. Comments are appreciated.

I also use to have chest discomfort when running which was followed by coughing attacks and a hard time breathing. I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma and prescribed an inhaler for when I work out. Ever since then I haven't had a problem.
