Will drinking water increase weight ?

So ive just had what I would think is a salty meal, so I have drunk 2 pints of water after it, and will this cause me to add weight when I weigh myself tomorrow? Or will the only water gain be from a potentially salty meal? Thanks

If you had a lot of sodium, yes, you might have a little extra water weight from that. Drinking water will help, but it may take a few days for the scale to move back down. I've never had a post-salty meal weight gain that was any higher than a normal weight fluctuation would be anyway, so it's not really something I worry about personally.

Since salt makes your retain water, therefore weigh more, does it make you "appear" bigger too?

Temporary weight gain. Until you pee it all out. Over time you will lose weight. I always drink 1 gallon a day. Be careful with your salt intake. Too much and your body will hold on to a lot more water.

Water you drink today will most likely be gone today. False weight fluctuations happen for more than one reason:
    1. Water retention and bloating, mostly due high sodium intake
    2. Glycogen storage due to high carb intake
    3. Having eaten/drunk something right before weighing yourself
    4. Having a full bladder/intestines

All of these usually subside within a few days if the reason behind them is dealt with.
