Avoiding corn between the toes

Last summer I walked to and from work every day, about 30 minutes each way. After about 3 months, I developed a corn between my baby toe and the one next to it on the baby toe. I would like to avoid the same situation when I start again in May. I do not know how or why this developed.

Any suggestions or advice?

What shoes did you walk in (make & model)?

Do you have high foot arches?

new balance toning walking shoes. I have a fairly high arch, but I also had arc support half insoles. It was only my right foot.

In your case i think it's a combination of having high arches, which puts more weight on the outer toes, and wearing shoes with an elevated heel, which puts more weight on the forefoot. You can't change your feet, but you can change to shoes with no raised heel, like Keds, Converse, Vans, etc. If they're not cushy enough, you can slip in a gel or foam insole.
