Throw $1 in a jar every time you work out. Once you get to 100 workouts you have a little stash to go buy new clothes0

When I hit my goal weight (which is 3 or 4 Kg ahead), I'm going to buy 2 sets of makeup brushes, the good ones, the Ferrari of makeup brushes0

Organize your closet and donate / throw away clothes you KNOW for a fact you won't wear anymore. Also, if you have to think about it throw that item away too. You'll have more room in your closet and drawers for new clothes.0

I like to get a new fitness app (like runtastic apps) or a fitness item like my Aria scale or new running shoes. My most recent addition is a heart rate monitor to help me train better for running. My thinking is that these items also help with future fitness and weight loss.
Good Idea! I have been really wanting a Fitbit!
My Aria scales I can live without but my Fitbit is now a part of my body and vital to the maintenance I've managed for over a year. It's a massive motivator to be more active on a regular basis as opposed to thrashing in the gym 3x wk then sitting down for the rest of it. That's just my take but it works for me.
My Mom loves hers too! I haven't done much research into them yet but anything that can keep the momentum going in the right direction is good by me! Thanks so much for your input!0 -

Well I have done this once since I got hard and heavy. I would pick a place that is beautiful (Park, lake or beach) and take a break from the gym and take a nice leasurely walk and enjoy your surroundings. Its relaxing and motivational, yes yes you still get to exercise.0

Name yourself a queen or princess when you lose weight/inches and post the announcement in a public place, like at an all-women's gym.0

I was setting 10 pound loss goals for myself and getting something just for fun for a reward. I got myself some pajama pants last time, and the time before I got a new workout outfit (both were from Walmart, so not too terribly expensive).
When I hit my ultimate goal weight, I plan on a bigger reward, but I'm not sure what yet.
Do something for yourself based on what you like to do. If you like to read, buy some books. If you like the outdoors, take a "sick day" and go for a road trip. Or something like that.0 -

Right now it is when I lose 45 pounds. I am going to the spa for a mud bath it costs 45.00.0

I really like this idea! Since this is the part I really struggle with, making time for myself to exercise. Could be the swift kick in the *kitten* I need.

I too reward. I started off with $10.00 in a jar and every lb lost I add a dollar. Gain out comes money. I can't stand the idea of taking money out so I really want to get to this goal and the money jar. I had a friend that did this and she lost over 200 lbs, went shopping and new hairstyle so she could see the reward. I have about 45 lbs to go so looking forward to something, just don't know what..my husband says if I get there, he will throw another $500.00 in.. Woo hoo..0

Okay, in defense of dogs, they aren't the only things in the world that get rewarded with food. Ever seen high-schoolers grasping for penny candy as it hurtles through the air?
Anyway, would your attitude hold true if you rewarded yourself with the best-tasting, low-cal options? I just get defensive about this because I do reward myself with calorie-dense consumables (BEER!) and don't consider myself a dog. Just a very hungry person.0 -

I i want a treat or something extra, i walk more, i walk to cover the calories and it has worked for me so far and it helps keep me motivated0

I don't have a scale but I plan on rewarding myself with a pedi after I've got two weeks of sticking to my exercise program and no binges. After I finish my workout program I'm going on a shopping trip! I don't reward with food, seems counter-productive.0
