Hiya everybody!

Hi everyone, my name is Derek. I'm 23 and work as a Personal Chef up here in gool ol' Michigan. I am also a consultant at a local gym when it comes to cooking healthy meals. I have my Bachelor's degree in Culinary Management (culinary school + business management, basically) and I am using my knowledge of food to teach people how to eat healthy. As a Personal Chef, my goal is to teach 1,000 people how to cook and eat healthier by the end of 2016.

Fitness-wise, I manage to keep myself in pretty good shape. There have been a few times where I've juggled jobs and literally had no time to go to the gym (those who have had 3 jobs probably know what I'm talking about), but now that I've found my calling I have a lot more time, and I am making sure I hit the gym as often as possible. I'm no beginner to weight training, but I do find that talking to other people about fitness helps to inspire me to be better at everything else.

What don't I like? Long, 40-50 minute runs on the treadmill. My cardio consists of jump rope + sprints + other assorted high-intensity movements. During the summer I play Ultimate Frisbee once a week, which is a killer cardio workout with all of the sprinting.

Feel free to add me as a friend! I don't bite, I promise!
