Over calories one day, deficit the next?

Just wanting to know how different people handle the day(s) that you overeat. On the next day do you eat at a deficit to make up for it? Or do you jump right back in to hitting your targets? How has that been working for you?

For me - once a week I choose a day to eat around 2000 cals (my norm is 1570)
Other then that I just stick with my plan.

I make up for it the next day or as soon as I can. I have been on vacation over the last ten days eating more than usual. Now I am on a three day "fast" to make up for it. I try to stay under my weekly goal so if one day is too high I will have to compensate somehow.

I just go back to eating normally. Starving myself the next day only sets me up for vicious binging cycles.

Some weeks I zig zag up and down a lot. I do try to make up for it to certain extent, but not to the point of being over hungry on the smaller day. I check my Report for Net Calories the last seven days and figure the average, which has stayed within 100 cals of MFP goal. I really like that Report. This week has been amazingly level for Net Calories. I'm curious to see if I lose differently by meeting MFP Net daily.

I do this as well - try to focus on the weekly goal rather than the daily goal.

A deficit. I go with my natural hunger, and if I overload one day, or a few days in a row, my body does not beg for a lot of food, if I get hungry at all.

But I IF. Fasting is built into my weight loss, and I do it very well. I can't resonate with people who say that they're tempted to binge after sharp deficits. That doesn't happen to me at all.
