My Nana used to boil them and they were delicious but first make sure to snip the pointed tips off of the artichoke leaves.

    steam with lemon :D
then dip in a dipping sauce of your choice and scrape the "meat" off the leaves
    now i really want one!
  • Cut off the top third of the choke with a sharp knife. Then, snip off the thorny tips of all leaves. Using a brush, coat cut surfaces with fresh lemon juice. Wrap choke tightly in plastic wrap and microwave at high power from 8 to 10 minutes (depending on size).
Unwrap carefully (will be very hot).
Enjoy with simple dip or plain.

My mother used to put a small amount of water in the bottom of a pan and steam them. We would peel the leaves and dip the meaty part in melted butter.
