Beginner trying to bulk and be healthier

Hi there, my name is Chris and I am 30 years old! I'm trying to add some muscle and look healthier! I'm
5ft 11 and 140 pounds! When I was in my teens I was very heavy , about 16 stone and thru exercise I got down to about 10 stone by the time I hit 20. Since then I have been a made cardio freak and I use to live on next to nothing! I do like food but I was always afraid of going back to the way I was. So my diet was v poor as I have a terrible sweet tooth!
Anyway I turned 30 recently and am fed up of looking gaunt in photos and people telling me I don't eat enough! So I have started a new weight training program! Cut out the cardio and have started eating about 2300 calories a day! Motivation at times is hard and I sometimes think I am making no progress but having said that I only started 2 weeks ago!
Anyway just saying hi! If anyone else is trying to bulk up and not just turn into fat and wants to give advice or tips then hit me up!
