So For several months since last year (August) every night ive been having ice cream a big chunk og my calorie amount for the day containing 300+ calories and 30+ grams of sugar. Ive been at a plateau for such a long time over 2 months really between 112-114 and I was 106 and skinnier in august i want t be like that again. Does refined sugar like sweets hinder weight loss? Any experience with it? What happened when you quit? I am almost 2 days free of ice cream and instead have smart pop 100 calorie popcorn as a night snack.
Should I do fruit instead or 100 cal popcorn?

I just can't lose and this plateau is getting on my nerves I just want to fit into my clothes again.

Only if it's the last thing of the day that you eat and it sends you over your maintenance calorie limit enough to equal however much weight you have gained over the period of time you gained however much weight.

That nonsense said, you gain weight when you eat more calories burned. The food is not the problem, the spoon/fork to mouth is.

Eat whatever you want in moderation and stay within a calorie deficit and you will lose weight.

But seriously, if you are trying to lose only 7 pounds and you are already down to about 115 or so, it will probably take a long time. How tall are you?

Yeah...if you really want to get fit, eat more calories than that, and make less of it ice cream and more of it actual food

A lot of passivity in this sentence, don't you think? Like, "Kinda" and "I guess"? If you really want to lose weight, it's time to stop being passive. Just kinda sorta letting yourself get entrenched in bad habits. There's nothing wrong with ice cream. There IS something wrong with eating ALL ice cream all day because you just kinda sorta have a habit I guess.

The question for you is not whether refined sugar affects weight loss. The question for you is why are you passively neglecting your real needs and then deceiving yourself into thinking this is normal behavior. This sounds like an emotional issue.

So what's going on with that?
