What is the reason that you measure liquid in cups/spoons instead of weighing it by ML?

I understand the reason for not using cups on food/solids is that it settles, but why are people telling me not to weigh liquid?

I'm just trying to be exact and lose 7lb to meet my current goal.

Thanks!

Any time a scale has an option for mL, it's just assuming whatever you're weighing has the density of water (1g/mL) so all you're really doing is weighing it in grams however, not all liquids have the same density as water which is why liquids servings are listed on nutrition labels as volume measurements, not by weight, so if you "weigh" out a liquid in mL, unless it's water, there is going to be error there.
