Do my calories burned seem accurate?

Just curious if this information seems accurate. My treadmill says I burned 557 calories for this session. Does this sound right given the information?

I held onto the Heart Rate Monitor the whole time, heart rate was anywhere from 135-150

Walked at 3.5mph for 45 minutes
Incline on 14%
Entered my weight of 151lbs
Says I burned 557 calories

It didn't ask for my age, height, or sex but I am 24 years old, 5'7" and male

Could be but I doubt it. Treadmills have given me inaccurate calories burned both over and under, discovered when I invested in a HRM. Maybe it's time for you to invest in one too?

Commercial treadmills give pretty accurate calorie readings. If there is a big discrepancy between a commercial treadmill with weight input and an HRM, it is mostly due to an inaccurate HRM, or HRM setup.

    Except in this case.

If the OP was holding the handrails to check HR during the workout, the calories are overstated. Handrail support offsets a good part of the intensity of incline walking.
