I'm planning on cooking a whole chicken in the crock pot next week and I need it to yield at least 6 4-oz servings. Should a 4 lb chicken do it or will I need more?

For my family of 6, I get a larger chicken - I think it's the PERDUE® OVEN STUFFER® Whole Roaster, Extra Meaty and likely in the 7-8lb range. Not everyone is a big fan of the wing/leg meat so maybe that's why I get a bigger bird.

I've seen ratios of 70:30 and 60:40 in terms of meat: carcass from a whole chicken.

Do you think a 7 lb chicken would fit into a 6 qt crock pot and cook in 10-11 hours (on low)?
