My name is Mell. I've been overweight for multiple years...
I have tried so many weight loss tricks, and have failed completely. At some points, I wanted to give up. But now I am back, and am finally starting to loose the weight! Changing our lifestyles is important!
what's your story? Why do you want to loose weight? Are you doing so?
I'm totally here to support you in your weight loss! Comment away!

Congratulations Mell,
You are right it is a lifestyle change . . . and not in a bad way
I wanted to lose weight because I had High Blood Pressure and just really didn't want the responsibility of taking a pill everyday - for one thing it starts with one pill and then another one for the side effects of the first one and so on and so on - then you have the Big pill caddy!
I know I was going to make lifestyle changes and that some food I may never eat again, but I figured I enjoyed it while it last and suffered with the after effects and now it's time to move on. I started by joining a gym (buying exercise clothes was a real wakeup call  ) I then started making changes in my diet and had lost some weight when a co-worker told me about MFP (I always tear up when I think about that, because I don't know if I could have been as successful without MFP). My first year I just worked out and counted calories, I didn't have any MFP friends and I didn't really read the message boards but I still had some success. Year two I have added friends - I have a great group of active friends (I do delete people when they are inactive and don't respond to my 'where are you' e-mail), just seeing the daily checking-in really helps keep me motivated.
My initial goal was 170, this was doctor approved and when I reached it I was given a clean bill of health, no longer any issues and to medication, a friend thought I should continue and so I set my goal at 150, now vanity has come along and it is 144 which would be 100 pound loss. I feel better but weight loss is really no nirvana - but I still wouldn't trade it for the former
I wish you all the best in your lifestyle change!!0
