HRM Question.. Does this make sense??

Hello All!
I bought a HRM watch (crappy CVS brand) to try to get a better calorie count during my workouts. I wasn't sure if I was figuring this out right....
On a typical day here is what I do-
Take my heart rate before workout begins- record it
then every minute after that (or as close to a minute as I can get) take heart rate and record it.
Then a final reading at the end of the work out.
From there, I add them all together then divide by how many readings I got (getting the average)- then I plug it into this: http://www.calories-calculator.net/Calories_Burned_By_Heart_Rate.html and get how many calories I burned during that work out....
Does that make sense? Am I doing this right???
PS Feel free to add me as a friend!!!

That has to be one of the most cumbersome methods I've seen for tracking heart rate.0

haha! Is that a good or bad thing?
I'm open to suggestions??? I'm new to tracking exercise calories, so this was my first method I thought of.0
