I'm Going To Need Some Help!

Hi Everyone!
A little about myself...I'm 38 and have quite a bit of weight to lose. A few years ago I did really well and lost quite a bit of weight. But then, my old habits returned, and here I am. Back at the beginning.
My main goal for losing weight is for my health. When I was skinnier, I felt better and had more energy. Now, not so much. I have every intention of working out in the evenings, but when the time comes, I keep saying tomorrow. Well, tomorrow is today. I need to get my act together and start. So, I joined MVP again over my lunch break. I want to feel good about myself again. I had more self esteem when I was thinner. I don't like how I look right now. To make matters worse for me, we are going to the beach at the end of June. I DREAD even thinking about getting into a swimsuit. It's enough to cause an anxiety attack.
If you would like to become friends and help support me, please do. I know I need a kick in the a**. And in return, I will do the same for you. I'm a great listener. Whether it is a celebration or an angry rant, I'll support you every way I can. Because I know, we all have those days.
I wish everyone luck in their journey!

Kudos for starting again. What is helping me is a constant reminder that this is not a diet. This is a lifestyle change, one that I have to maintain for the rest of my life. It's for my health and I must do it. If I have a not so good day or week, then I have to put that behind me and start again right away.
We have a beach vacation coming up in 10 days, so I'm pretty much out of time as far as that goes. LOL I bought swim shorts/top and a cute cover up. I figure I won't know a soul other than my hubby and there's nothing he ain't seen before, so who cares?
I check in here every day so feel free to add me if you'd like.0 -
You can do this! Make a list of reasons why you want/need to and keep it around. Write some of the reasons on sticky notes and put on your fridge, closet, where ever you need to see those reminders at all times. I started out wanting to lose 118 and am over half way there. I started and stopped or started and regained more times than I can track in the past but this time, I'm sticking with it!! Just get going! It feels so good to lose, so worth the pain and saying no to foods that you need to eat only in moderation. Best of luck to you!0

First I would like to congratulate you for taking a step in the right direction. I too just recently decided to take that same step and I have to say it is not easy, however you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Instead of looking at this whole thing as a diet, I decided to make this a lifestyle change. I realized I needed to change what I was doing on a daily basis, not just for a duration. By making small changes from what I ate to how much I ate, incorporating 15 minutes of physical activity daily, and reducing my soda intake(increasing water intake) I have lost 7 lbs in two weeks. I do not deprive myself of the foods I love(big fried food addict....LoL) I simply just cut them out except on the weekends(Sat and Sun are my days to eat what I want, but still in moderation). My goals is to gradually reduce my weekend eating, and increase the amount of time I complete my physical activity, but for now these small changes have helped me to realize I can do this and you know what so can you. My advice to you is to find what works best for you and stick with it, you know your body and mind better than anyone. So best of luck to you and feel free to add me as a friend. Keep me posted on your success and even if you have a setback, I'll be there to encourage you to keep going.....until next time0

Best of luck to you and feel free to add me to your friends. I know I need support and would be happy to support you. I come from a family of diabetics - myself included. So my decision to lose weight is not just because I don't like the way I look. I'm just starting again (been down this road before) and my daughter introduced me to myfitnesspal and I love it. This is the first time I have been able to really keep track of my calories and carbs, etc. What a wonderful site. Please feel free to add me to your support group because I need lots and lots of support!!! Just remember "one pound at a time."0
