New today..starting to lose again.

Hi Everyone...I have been trying to lose weight on and off for a long time. It is time to honestly try again--do the exercise, count the calories. This time I'm going to do it better.
I read a post that was really great! I struggle with how to eat right and exersice to loose weight with out my family complaining about the changes I make or that I won't eat the junk food they eat. - -The post said that she was the boss and they will need to change. -- I make the rules for evereything else in our house, they should also respect the good choices that I make reguarding food and exercise as well. I am a wife and mother of 8 young children so their voice can be quite loud at times. I need to be stronger.
I'm not sure about setting mini goals and all of that. I tend to be an all or nothing type of person and if I screw up, that is unacceptable so I end up quitting. I will learn to cut myself some slack!!
I definately need more support than what I have at home to get through readjusting the way I think and react to things. Relearning how to eat right is going to be difficult, but that is where the problem is for me. I'm so glad I found this site. It is very easy to use.

Hi and welcome. I'm pretty new myself but I think with this group I will do better than I ever have before. This time I WILL succeed.
I understand about the 8 little voices but like you said YOU are the boss. You can fool them into thinking that they have the choice though. Offer them meal A with extras 1,2 and 3 or Meal B with extras 2, 5 and 6 (insert whatever foods YOU like in place of the letters & number)....It does work, done it with pretty much everything with my 4 and have never had battles with clothes, toys or food etc.
