Bored with food... high protein/low carb meal ideas?

So after 14 months of this, I'm reaching the point where I just don't feel like eating anything (well, except dessert, doh).

I need meal ideas badly. I have a bunch of chicken breasts still, but no matter how I cook them, it just doesn't taste as good as when I make them on the foreman grill... but I'm SO BORED with it. I tried that greek yogurt chicken recipe from the recipes forums yesterday and frankly don't think I'll even use any more of my calories on it... I just didn't like it much. Heck I just don't like the texture of baked chicken breasts I guess.

I have frozen shrimp too so I guess I could make yet another shrimp fried rice... but even that doesn't sound good either. Lately I've made everything from lasagna rolls to taco bake, cheeburger casserole, tacos of all kinds, got my fill of sandwiches/burgers. I'm not craving anything (again, except desserts  ), so it's not helping. Heck even breakfast is starting to be a drag (no matter what I make, it doesn't fill me up for more than 2-3 hours, and I'm tired of having less than 1000 calories the rest of the day because the only thing that fills me up is 700 calorie breakfasts).

Problem of course is that the only thing I really enjoy lately is sweets, as my meals are not that satisfying (or I end up eating too many carbs, which wouldn't be an issue if they actually filled me up), and I've just been going over my goal too much because I get really hungry 2 hours after dinner (which is not a big deal, I'm just after vanity pounds anyway and can afford to eat at maintenance a couple days, but still). I do have a sweet tooth though, so there's that I guess.

So... ideas?

Oh my goodness. We sound so much alike. This exact thing happens to me to. I have hundres of recipes, literally hundreds, but it always sounds the same to me, chicken beef or pork, or pasta! I get sick of everything, and I wander around the aisles of the supermarket looking for something new to eat, that is low fat, low cal but still taste good, but nothing looks good. It's all the same, just different variations! I don't why this happens, I wish I could tell you. But the same thing also happens to me and that is when I wind up eating bad, because hell, chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and cherries sounds a lot more appetizing than rice cakes! I just don't know. Do you think it could be our hormones? I know our cycle has a lot to do with when we crave sweets and hight sodium foods etc. I'm thinking it could be that, but I don't know for sure. I would love to see the response you get, as I have the same issue.
    Thank you.

Lol I don't know. I don't have massive huge cravings for sweets either right now, and I have no idea what my cycle is at, considering I haven't had a period in like 5-6 weeks for some reason.

I have a question regarding what you said about eating at maintenace a couple of days.....Does this app teach us how to do that once we have reached our goal weight? I still have 15 more pounds to go, but I am curious how this all works and what to be prepared for when that glorious day arrives! Thank you:drinker:

Oh you just increase your calories slowly ideally. Or just switch your goal to maintaining then.

I've found lots of ideas on eatingwell.com--I've had a lot of luck with their recipes, and their site is set up with slide shows, like "dinners under 350 calories" or "reader's favorite chicken recipes" and "simple chicken recipes" and stuff like that.

5-6 weeks, oh wow! It might have something to do with that. At least you are at a weight where you can afford to have a sweet here and there. I'm sure it will pass, but can't wait to see what others have to say.
    Thank you!

Hmmm. I'm not low carb (in fact right now I'm working on getting carbs up, which is strange to me) but if you'd like recipes for any of these let me know and I'll send them to you:

    Lemon Dijon pork tenderloin marinade
    Pesto shrimp skewers
    Garlic lime shrimp skewers
Chipotle chicken skewers with avocado sauce
    Lemon Rosemary chicken thighs
    Shrimp fried quinoa

    Oh those sound yummy!

I ended up going to the store and having some frozen waffles with ricotta, honey and strawberries as a snack. Fail (but oh so delicious).
