What activities do you perform? Are you looking for an all day activity tracker or something geared towards calculating calories from cardio exercises specifically?

The post is so broad that it is impossible to give any advice and most of what you want to know is probably covered in the multiple HRM/ Fitbit threads created every single day.

My advice is to use a tracking device if you want to. But if you prefer manual tracking, don't use a device to do it for you.

I would like to track steps, speed, distance, calories burned, etc. as I walk/jog.

Have you tried Google or even Amazon?

The only way you'll come close to accurately tracking speed and distance is with a GPS enabled device ... either a GPS watch or smartphone. A fitbit will track your daily steps but distance is dependent on a consistent stride length and that length input into the device.

So a simple answer would be fitbit comes closest to what I am looking for?
    GPS sounds like overkill....
