Ok so quick back story, I have a medical condition that makes getting overheated a very big no no. I live in Houston Texas where the humidity is through the roof in the summer. I am walking right now outside between 30 mins to an hour a day, but I know that very soon it is going to be WAY to hot and humid for me to handle. I just bought a stationary bike from another teacher I work with for super cheap and I am thinking I can do that when the humidity is too or high or I am having one of those BAD days were I just can not handle the Texas heat. Now I would like suggestions for good workout ideas to keep it interesting and to actually benefit my weight loss...

There are some great workout videos on youtube, if you really want to challenge yourself check out Spinervals.
If overheating s a problem for you buy a fan and position it to give you a constant breeze while riding and make sure that you stay adequately hydrated.
Have fun!0 -
I don't know of specific "workouts" for a stationary bike other than just pedal lol. Somebody else might. However, I can recommend the bitgym app. It's a virtual tour through national parks. It's actually pretty fascinating as it gives you bits of trivia throughout your ride.0

This site is going out of business...but there are video clips & reviews for cycling DVDs. Some are just "take a tour" type videos, others have intervals, at least one uses weights. This will help you get a feel for what's out there......

I have my bike on rollers. I just set up my computer in front of my bike in the winter and search Youtube for "Indoor Cycling Videos". My favorite is one that shows this guy going along beautiful mountain roads in Mallorca:

And he has a ton more. Love pedaling in my basement but imagining biking through quaint German towns or beaches or mountain passes. It's awesome.0 -

That's pretty much it, other than varying the intensity you pedal at, doing intervals, etc.
Along with the many forms of television watching already mentioned, you can read while you pedal or listen to audio books.
The basic formula is to sit in one spot and pedal while trying to distract yourself from the fact that you're sitting in one spot pedaling.0
