Something not too expensive. Any recommendations?

Thanks :)

Are you looking for actual training gloves or just cheap bag gloves? If its something you're going to pursue for any length, I would definitely recommend a decent pair of training/sparring gloves. A poor quality/fit really ups the risk of injury. Vinyl with a velcro closure would be fine.

A women's S/M fits a 7" around the palm and 6.5" from tip of finger to bottom of palm. If you purchase a pair and they are loose, use hand wraps to help get a snug fit. 120" wraps are cheap and there are an infinite number of videos on Youtube on how to wrap your hands. If you're hitting a bag hard/mitts with any force, I would recommend always wrapping your hands. Glove size generally corresponds to weight, but they do make smaller sizes in heavier weights. Make sure the glove and closure go well past the wrist and the padding is resiliant and spongy, almost like memory foam.

As to gloves, I like Title Classic and Fairtex Training gloves. I also have a pair of Adidas that have taken an immesurable amount of punishment and still are in decent shape. A woman I used to train with used 8oz Adidas training gloves that were a good fit and she was tiny. Might try and look at those.

Now that my dissertation is over, good luck!
