My doctor was really nice and she give me a though exam. I have to start getting mamagrams (breast cancer on dads side). She did a palvic exam and omg it hurt!! She ask med if I ever had sex and I said no (i live at home with mom and im disablied). and she was like thats why it hurts. I was bleeding alot during it and she said when am I due for my period and I dunno. But im home and im dry. I have alot of discharge and it's funky. She said maybe a yest infaction? She did alot of blood work also. EVERYTHING!!! Mom has to call back to get forms and dtuff cuz the doctor was behind and forgot the forms that I had and the meds to get filled. My weight was at 185 lbs. 2 tenths off from the home scale. The doctor recomened an eating nurtristast but I have to have a medacail problem for moms insuraance to cover it. My blood presure was 137/76 and my heart was 88 I think. Sooo thats all I can think off.

Spotting after an internal exam isn't abnormal. Typically it's from the cervix being irritated. Your blood pressure isn't bad. The top number isn't ideal but it can read falsely high due to stress at the Dr. I don't think you need a nutritionist yet (unless you had a medical reason but you said you don't). Just keep moving more and eating at a deficit. Over all good job.0

Yea, spotting is normal (and it sucks!!!).
You are doing good though! Mrsczm138 said it best!0 -
It was more like a blood flow not spotting.0

Sorry about the uncomfortable (painful) experience you had. I am surprised that they did it since you haven't had sex. My daughter is 27 and has had neither. But it isn't a big deal that they did it. I have had cervical cancer and had my cervix removed, and paps are very very pailful now, so I feel you!!! BP was good. And I agree that you seem to be ok without a nutritionalist. Take care and hope you feel better. Keep up the awesome work! As we all know~ this is a tough journey!!!0

It is suggested that pelvic exams start at age 18 or when someone is sexually active, whichever comes first.0 -
i'm 31 yrs old. I want to meet the right guy and thought I did but I was wrong lol. After having paps done I think i'm turned off to sex lol.0

She should have had a pelvic and pap by age 27, sex or not. She still needs screened for cervical cancer.0 -

Yeah, NOT the same.0 -

Ditto. You might want to try a different doctor next time. Some doctors are more gentle than others. I've heard male doctors are more gentle, I don't know if that is true, but I do know that I always preferred female doctors until a few years ago I had some problems and I needed to change doctors and ended up with a male. I LOVE him. And he is by far the most gentle doctor I have ever had, so maybe there is some truth to that tale about male doctors being more gentle.0 -
If it was your first exam, it's normal that it hurt. It gets easier. As far as sex, you just keep holding out until you find a wonderful man and it will feel right. Not at all like an exam!
Way to go on your loss so far!0 -

I've been having sex for 20 years and paps/pelvic exams still hurt sometimes. For me the key is to breathe to relax my pelvic muscles (I get nervous and therefore tense up) and I try to zone out a bit if I can.0
-
If you're in the DC area, I can give a really good rec for a gyno.
If you're nervous (like while getting a pelvic exam) the muscles can contract and make the exam more difficult. Next time, maybe it would help to tell the doctor to go slow and sort of narrate everything he/she's doing so you know what's coming next? That's what I do.
I personally have found female doctors to be gentler, especially if I tell them I'm nervous, but even then, not all lady doctors are created equal.0 -

lol Definitely not the same.
I'm not sure if it would make you uncomfortable but try a male doctor next time. I have NEVER bled from a pap until I saw a female doctor. True story.0 -

...How is this general diet and weight loss help? and Why did you decide to post this on MFP? AND Do you have a question?0

My pap smears are incredibly painful. I always bleed and get cramps afterwards. That shouldn't make you afraid of sex, though. I find I'm still able to do it most of the time, though there are still a few positions that hurt. Hang in there. You're doing really well.0
