Welcome!
I joined MFP just a few days ago to share my story and to play around with the wonderful progress tracking interface of this site. It really does rock.
Eat one meal a day at the same time everyday on one 10-inch plate filled up - anything you want - with one 12 to 14 oz calorie beverage (juices, wine, beer, or milk), and no calories for the rest of the day (just water, coffees, and teas), and your weight will plummet like you won't believe.
You will find a lot of support here!

I'm happier (and healthier) than I've ever been! Great blood workups and 160 lbs don't lie!

yeah intermittent fasting is pretty great, but it should be a 4-10 hour window, the longer side for women, not a 1 hour window, and you can't tell a new person to eat "whatever you want".
I could eat 300 calories of fried chicken fingers and french fries smothered in ranch on that plate and GAIN weight as that is well over my TDEE. And I would also be starving and malnourished for the other 23 hours.
Speak carefully around here. Some people can take things quite literally and there are people with EDs around that will adopt this once a day thing as "healthy" and net 200 calories for the day. There are all kinds of extremes.
So, OP, yes you can fast for most of the 24 hour period, mostly while sleeping, and consume your calories in a window of time, like 8-4 or 10-6 or whatever you choose. It takes food out of the equation for the rest of the day so you're not constantly thinking/planning, but don't take this guy literally and eat "whatever you want" once per day. You need to make sure you are balancing your macros and getting adequate nutrition in that feeding window.0 -

Thanks for the clarification.
Yes, it would be folly to think that "anything" means cotton candy or what-not, but one has to start somewhere. This is where people struggling with lots of weight to lose get discouraged by having to face a massive change where everyone keeps saying "eat healthy"...it becomes too much.
Your body prods you along to wanting healthier and better things in time. But no, regardless of what you eat that can fit on one plate, you will NOT gain weight since it doesn't exceed 1,700 calories. I'll stand by what I said, even when talking about chicken fingers and fries in ranch dressing. Bodily adaptability is quite amazing, although it is true that if one eats terribly, they will certainly not feel as well throughout the day.
I don't want to hijack the thread and argue about it here. Was just throwing that out there as an option.0 -
...and I meant 3000 calories not 300, obviously. My TDEE is about 1800.
You can't fit more than 1700 calories on a plate? I do it at the chinese buffet all the time lol...
and I get everything you're saying, just didn't want new people or folks suffering from an ED to think it really means anything.
It needs to be your accurate calorie and macro goal for that day, fit into that feeding window. If you do that, it's a great idea for a lot of people because the rest of the day you don't need to think about what/what not to eat, just get it over with and be done.0 -
I think you were kidding about one plate a day rught?
I am going by the calorie count on scoobys workshop. So far so goid and weighing in daily just to stay accountable and know my next weigh in is in the morning and not a week away....helps me a lot0
