Hey guys, I just started keto about 3 days ago and feel I'm doin everything right? I'm not sure if I'm eating to much if anything. I have read that it decreases hunger which I do agree I don't feel as hungry as normal, anyway I would love if you guys could take a look at my food diary and see what you think. I'm 5ft 10 and weight 190!! I was 160 at the beginning of last year and felt amazing! I have been stopped smoking almost 1.5 years and feel so much better and now have crazy love for peanut butter. I got married also in May of last year and then I figured after that I would eat the damn chocolate if I wanted to, and here I am 30lbs heavier oh boy do I feel it. I have been gradually gaining for the past year and feeling worse and worse. I did a 30 day paleo challenge in January and felt amazing with crossfit 4 times a week but still no weight loss. I think it was to many nuts! Now I have had to stop crossfit for a while with problems with my arms and it sucks I can't lift weights yet. I beat the crap out of my legs though, lots of squats, lunges etc. Any feedback is appreciated looking forward to hearing from you all x

I will stalk your food blog girl, but please know that over the course of the next couple of weeks (even though you feel ok now) will be difficult, but hold out! GOOD LUCK!1 -

You should be tracking your fiber in order to get your net carbs. Carbs are not what you need to worry about, it's the net carbs.1

I have to warn you that whey protein shakes can kick you out of ketosis. Whey spikes insulin levels to deliver protein fast. Not really good if you are sensitive to insulin spikes. If I am cutting really hard, I have to cut out my whey and sometimes switch to casein for slow protein release. My two cents.0

Took a peak at your diary. You go over on carbs a lot. However, not everyone needs to net under 30 carbs to be in ketosis. If you want, you can take a look at my diary. I eat in the 1500 range myself.1

I also stay at 1500 calories. I started out at 20 carbs but now I eat between 50-70 and in the last 2 months lost 32 pounds so for me eating a little more carbs is still working. I try to make most of my carbs fiber though.1

I had no freaking idea, thank you for this tidbit of info! A vast majority of keto smoothie recipes contain whey protein powders, I'm glad I've been avoiding those.1 -
Ok thanks for the info. I had some beer and pizza last night so Definately screwed up! Lol ! Well back to it now! I find it hard without protein shakes, I love them! Many recommendations on anything else like that? Also I've been trying keep my carbs under 30 at tops for the last wek, I thought I was doing good but one of you said I go over a lot. I didn't think the same but maybe I need to re think things.0

Thanks! I love protein shakes! It's so tough without them, fruit I can live without but protein shakes I find hard x0

when I look on the website food diary it doesn't show fibre content? But on the app it does? It shows I go over my carbs everyday but when I work it out on my app and take away the fibre I'm under my carbs or used them all? I'm confused by it??0

I love my protein shakes also.0

Thank you for the info, I was about to introduce protein shakes in to my food intake, as doing insanity training and weight training. I will resort to a hemp protein instead, atleast its a leafy green0
