Flexor Digitorum Longus Tendon & Tarsal Tunnel Surgery

I am just wondering if anyone has had the surgery for the above and what was their recovery and recovery time like? I know everyone is different and all have different experiences but my surgeon will not give me a straight answer on this until I go for my pre-operation appointment just before my operation. I have been fighting the NHS for a diagnosis and finally after 3 years of mis-diagnosis after mis-diagnosis I am finally going to have surgery June 2014.
I did loose three stone back in 2011 and then injured myself resulting in the above and unfortunately over the last three years have put this weight back on due to not being very mobile. Have decided to try and loose some of the weight before the operation and hopefully more after.
