A small success worth mentioning

As I mention in my profile, my goal is to create a healthy lifestyle for myself that doesn't get pushed to the side when I have other "more important" things going on in my life.
Yesterday, I took my PhD comprehensive exams, and I am very proud to say that I did not let eating healthy and exercising fall by the wayside as I prepared in the months leading up to it. Did I celebrate my butt off last night and drink a lot of beer and eat Mexican food, hell yes.
But, for the past months, since I got back from abroad, I have been counting calories and exercising. And I woke up this morning, a little hungover, happy to be done with my exam, and went right ahead and made myself a healthy breakfast and logged my calories.
This would have NEVER happened a year ago, so I am very proud of myself!
I haven't lost any pounds in the past few weeks, which I am perfectly fine with. I'm just happy that I am changing my lifestyle instead of dieting. Today I also decided to start strength training along with my cardio to help move those last 8 pounds along a little bit quicker.
Like I said, it's a small success, but definitely worth mentioning!

Well done, I understand what an important part of the 'lifestyle' change that is because I too become so swayed by things going on in my life and I would like my goal to be consistency, i just want to maintain a healthy lifestyle no matter what i am dealing with at the time. It is a very difficult thing to do, especially as you say during exam season - so well done you and I hope you get the results your hoping for both weight wise and academically xx0
