Does anyone know of a brand of pedometer that actually works properly? One i can hook to my waistline of my pants and count on it to track what I actually walk during the day? Every single one I have ever bought is crap. Any advice would be great!

The FitBit is available at Target and any good sporting goods store. It isn't cheap but it is very accurate for steps. It tracks much more than just steps, too. Depending on which you choose, it can even monitor your sleep patterns. Plus, it plays nice in the sandbox with MFP. Calories from steps are automatically added to your daily food allowance. I love mine.0 -
Another vote for the fitbit. It is a great pedometer and the one you can clip on to your clothing or shoe. As the others have said, you can get them at Target or Amazon. Their customer service is second to none. Absolutely fantastic customer service.0

I've been using a $30 Omron HJ112 for over a year now. I love it and would recommend it.
However, it's not accurate if you run. The problem is that you set your stride length for normal walking. When you run, you take fewer but longer steps. The device isn't smart enough to tell that you're running so your mileage will be short. You could change your stride settings every time you run, but to me it's not worth it.0 -

Does the fitbit zip accurately track steps? Thats all I really want, but I want something super accurate.0
