If your profile pic is a recent photo of you, you don't have 20 lbs to lose. And 20 lbs in 3 months is 1.7 lbs/week. That's too much.
  • Nooope, that was me a year and a half ago, and i'd like to get back to that haha

    This ^^
I had done weight machines in the past but had just picked random ones and didn't follow any program or use any real weight. I started with Stronglifts and it was great and I still love it. Do your homework though beforehand. Read the forum, watch some instruction/form videos online and don't be afraid to ask questions or post form check videos. I read the Stronglifts book and it was very insightful but it can be a long read so if time is short the forum and videos will work.

Look into either Jaime Eason's livefit trainer on bodybuilding.com or the beachbody les mills pump program! Both great starting places for lifting!

    I find this

    http://www.exrx.net/Exercise.html

a brilliant website for planning routines. It's full of useful info and advice.

If you go the the Exercise & Muscle Directory it lists all the exercises you can do for each muscle group.

I'm doing Jamie's workout now and I love it! I've been increasing my weights every couple of weeks. It's very easy to start and there are alternatives to each exercise in the event your gym doesn't have the equipment or weights that you need. There are videos to show you how to do the exercises and the alternatives pop up when you click the "view full details" button on the video pages. Good luck with whatever program you choose!
