Weekend Cleanse

Anyone tried the Joe Cross’ 3-Day Weekend Juice Cleanse? I really need something to kick off my weight loss because I've been stuck in the same area for quite a while. (http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/joe-cross-3-day-weekend-juice-cleanse)
Seems like a 3 day cleanse could be beneficial. I'm definently not planning on juicing for a long period of time, but I think 3 days could be helpful.
Let me know what you guys think.

There's no kick starting anything. Find a sustainable deficit, track everything consistently. Lose weight. Cleanses are a scam. Your liver and kidney cleanse your body. The only reason you'll see loss is water weight, which will promptly return after. Have you read this yet?

Listen to Michael Scott.
You will lose weight this weekend, but by Tuesday/Wednesday It will be back.
Just make this weekend your own kickstart and tell yourself you will stay under your calories!!0 -
A 3 day juice fast can be an excellent way to kick off your new eating habits. After 3 days on juice, you will like the taste of fruits and vegetables a lot more.
But, it's only a worthwhile thing to do if you are planning on using it as a means of kick starting your new eating habits. If you juice, and then go back to eating how you have always eaten, you will get the results you have always gotten.0 -
You will definitely get a lot of mixed reactions posting about a cleanse on here but I can give you my honest opinion. I have done a similar 3 day juice cleanse once a year for the past 3 years and I personally have loved it. It's pricey and will not give you lasting weightloss which is important to realize in the beginning. It's recommended to get you out of a plateau or to kickstart healthy eating habits... it has sometimes just given me a good reminder that I just lived off of delicious fresh juice for 3 days and I can put down that extra slice of pizza. You could likely do the same cleanse by just eating fruits, veggies, lean protein, nuts and drinking tons of water over a certain number of days as well - I love the taste of the juices and will treat myself to them still on occassion!0

Indeed, MGS knows best!
Once you get back to eating normal, the weight will be right back and you may be even more discouraged. Its just water you are losing, and perhaps, your sanity0 -

Kickstart your weight loss by eating at a deficit.0

I definitely need to cleanse my house this weekend. Wait, that's not what we're talking about? Then no, just eat the food you like, add some fruits and veggies, reach your calorie goal, and you'll feel great all weekend and ready to go on Monday.
ETA: If you really want to "kick off" your weight loss- do this: read some success stories, take some pictures, save some images of the kind of body you want and/or tape them to your mirror, buy a dress one size too small, make a list of reasons you want to lose weight, find a friend with similar goals, tell a loved one about your plans, look up your TDEE, try a new exercise or do one you know you love, take a long walk. Seriously, this is the stuff that will "kick-start" you, will motivate you, and will serve you in the long run. Good luck!0 -

There is no scientific proof that a cleanse does anything to remove toxins/baddies from your body. All it will remove from your body is money. Like any carbohydrate-restricting fad diet, water weight will come off during the cleanse and come right back afterwards.
Enjoy your blood sugar spikes and weight fluctuations!0 -

If you are doing something wrong, and aren't losing weight, doing a juice fast isn't going to fix that, it is just going to give you temporary relief.0

I'm doing a cleanse this weekend as well and it's going to be epic....it involves quite a bit of vodka, some tonic, and some limes. My wife better have her game face on too, because those panties are going to drop...
Planning on losing like 5 Lbs by Monday with some good rompin' sex and being dehydrated from my vodka cleanse....

Welp, so long as you're taking your raspberry ketones.0 -

Like other people have commented, you'll lose the water weight... but gain it back. I've done the 3 day juice cleanse and tried EXTREMELY hard to eat really well, drink a lot of water, and workout afterwards. But I still gained all the weight back. Have you heard of Tone It Up? They have a 5 and 7 day slim down which could be really beneficial for you. You'll learn how to be more strict on your food intake, and they give you lots of healthy options for meals. Not gonna lie, it's difficult. But when I did the 7 day and then went back to eating 'normal' I found that I got fuller sooner, and I kept the 5lbs I lost off! Eating better food and smaller portions is really what's going to contribute to long term weight loss.0

"There are products out there that claim to be cleansers, but there's no reason an individual needs to cleanse. Clean eating is what you need to do. Clean eating, not cleansing. Clean eating is basically if you eat a healthy diet filled with plenty of fruits, vegetables , whole grains your body will naturally cleanse itself. " - Keri Gans, registered dietitian, spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and author of "The Small Change Diet" (Simon & Schuster, 2011)
"You do not need to do anything cleansing, per se, because you have a wonderful organ in your body called the liver. You don't need to do any kind of food-based cleansing. " -Joan Salge Blake, registered dietitian and clinical associate professor at Boston University
"The cleanse thing has been a fad for a couple of years, but there's honestly really no true cleanse because no matter what, your body will make metabolic waste. " -Stella Volpe, professor and chair of the Department of Nutrition Sciences at Drexel University in Philadelphia; registered dietitian
"I have not been able to find any scientific evidence that juice fasting does anything specifically beneficial. It is good to eat fruit and vegetables. To the extent that they are in juice , that is a good thing; however, the same ingredients would equally be beneficial if they were solid and chewed and not juiced. The teeth and the stomach are great juicers. They turn what you eat into juice and you digest it anyway. Pre-juicing food is great for people who find juice pleasurable. The "cleanse and detoxify" idea is nonsense, except that a juice fast includes abstaining from nicotine or alcohol. Nicotine is toxic and so, in excess, is alcohol. It is good to avoid ingestion of toxins. The body, however, is not dirty inside and in need of cleansing. If you believe in evidence-based interventions, this one has no purpose. If you believe in shamanism and faith-healing, it's as good as any other form in that genre."- Dr. Michael Gershon, professor and chairman of the Department of Pathology & Cell Biology at Columbia University Medical Center
Voice of Young Science (a group of young scientists) studied various detoxifying products in 2009. Their main findings: 1. No two companies seem to use the same definition of ‘detox’. 2. Little, and in most cases no, evidence was offered to back up the detox claims. 3. In the majority of cases, producers and retailers contacted by the young scientists were forced to admit that they are renaming mundane things, like cleaning or brushing, as ‘detox’.0 -
The only cleanse I swear by is the Taco Bell cleanse.
Just eat sensibly and move more. You'll be fine.0
