Lots of Strength but not looking different?

So I've been doing lots of strength training (about 4x a week) with light-moderate cardio and though I definitely feel stronger and feel my endurance getting higher I'm not seeing any real difference physically. Should I cut back on the strength and focus on cardio to get rid of the fat first and focus on building muscle later or should I just up the ante on strength? I really don't want to lose the muscle I've made (I've heard that lots of cardio will eat up muscle but this might be wrong) but I also am in decent shape already and it's not my primary concern. Also I tried eating a 1200 calorie diet but was miserably hungry all the time but I'm open to suggestions as far as cutting back on calories more.

Stats to help put this in context:
5'6 female
19yrs old
158 lb
I eat around 1600-1800 a day

Fat loss happens slowly. Maybe you need to give it more time. How long have you been doing what you described?

If youre getting stronger and fitter, then your training probably isnt the issue. As you get fitter, you can gradually increase the intensity of your workouts. In the meantime, you probably need to give your body a chance to adjust to the corrections youve made in your diet.

your cals seem like you probably should be losing, so i would also say be patient.

when it comes to losing fat, i think the primary focus should be on calorie restriction.

Personally i think people should just look at mass gaining or losing as a food thing. Exercise is more about athletic goals, tweaking of appearance, or health.

Have you taken measurements? What we see in the mirror is often skewed, and if you lift, the scale is a liar. :)

Increase your weight on resistance training, and decrease your rest time between sets.

Are you taking progress photos in your underwear? You won't see changes in the mirror. It's too slow of a process. Progress photos every 30 days.
