NEVER EXERCISED BEFORE (Looking to start, help??)

OK, a little shameful: but I've honestly only 'worked out' twice in my entire life. I'm looking to actually get into a regular (maybe 3 times a week) routine but I have no idea where to start because as you could probably assume I'm insanely out of shape :(
any ideas on simple workouts I can do to start building up some stamina/won't leave me bedridden from pain the next day?

Thank you

    Hi,

I'm 315 6ft male. I started out 350 about 4 months ago. So I'm down about 33lbs give or take. I actually went on YouTube.and this couple does all sorts of aerobic exercises. Its called Fitness Blender. They have low impact to HIIT as well as different ranges as far a few minutes to an hour and a half. They also have weight training as well. I really like them and have seen a lot of success. I plan on using them until I get to my target weight. Good Luck!

Walking is a wonderful start to getting in shape. Work your way up to 30 or 45 minutes at a time and then work on increasing pace/distance. You will start to see improvements.

When I started one of the first 'fitness' videos I did was Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds. I started with the 1 mile walk and have gone up from there. Her videos are walking with a few other steps. Most videos also have either a stretchy band or small weights to add a little toning to the workout. These are now one of my activities on lighter day.

Other low impact cardio exercises are bike riding and swimming. If you have access to a pool or bicycle you can start slow and build your time and pace with those too.

The key is to find something you enjoy doing. Exercise should be something you want to do, not a chore. I will admit there are days I'd rather not and I force myself to exercise, but once I get started I don't regret it.

Walking or swimming is always a good way to start. It gets you going and gives you a way to assess your overall fitness, and neither requires much in the way of equipment.
