Drinks, food, exercise! Help!

Does drinking beer keep you from losing weight? I stay at or under my calorie goal of 1200 a day. I drink tons of water and run as many days a week as possible and always at least 3 miles. I like to drink michelob ultra a couple of nights a week. Always staying within my calories. I have lost a few lbs in the past couple of weeks, but I feel like I should have seen the scale move down more this week since I amped up my runs. Is it the beer for some reason or what?!? I need to lose 10 lbs by next month and that used to be very doable! It seems so much harder now!

If you are in a deficit, you will lose weight regardless of what you eat or drink.

Since you 'amped up' your runs, you may be seeing water retention masking your weight loss. The water retention is for muscle repair. Anytime you start a new exercise or increase it, you will temporarily retain water.

On a side note, even though you are short (I am the same height), you should be eating more than 1200 calories. 1200 calories isn't appropriate for your activity level. I suggest reading this:

And if you haven't already, invest in a food scale and weigh your food.

And lastly, weight loss isn't linear. There will be some weeks you see absolutely no change in the scale. Some weeks will be right on target, etc. As long as there's a downward trend, you're in the right area. Also, the closer to your goal weight you are, the harder/longer it will take to get there.

Thanks. I'm definitely in a deficit. I would like to lose 20 more lbs, but if I just lose 10 I will be happy with it!
